WELCOME TO THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT

A yellow school bus is parked in front of a vibrant autumn forest with colorful trees. Our team is committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for our students each day. We understand that getting students to and from school safely is an important part of their educational experience, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Our drivers and staff work hard to ensure that every route is planned with student safety and efficiency in mind. We proudly provide transportation services for students attending Twinsburg City Schools as well as eligible students attending local private schools within the district’s transportation boundaries.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The schedule is set after the New Student Registration is done in August. Bus stop information will be mailed to you containing your bus number, location and time of pick up/drop off. IT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED ON THE WEBSITE OR IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS.

  • Students will be assigned to "neighborhood" stops meaning that all students will walk to the bus stop located in their neighborhood. Because we transport more than 4,000 children every day, we must determine bus stops based on safety and efficiency while appropriately managing district funds.

  • If you are moving, you must change your address with your child's school.

District School Families:  Update your address in FinalForms and complete the Address Change Packet.  Please allow two (2) weeks or more to complete this process as you must provide two (2) proofs of residency and a deed/lease.

Private School Families:  Update your address with your student's school and have them send us an email to transportationoffice@twinsburgcsd.org with your completed address change information.

    All Families:

Transportation cannot change your child's stop until the address change is completed with the school.

Please do not change your child's bus with the school/daycare/sitter until you have received notification from the Transportation Department that the change is complete and the start date is confirmed.

Changes done less than two weeks prior to the first day of the school year cannot be guaranteed bus transportation for the new address.

  • Please be at the stop five (5) minutes before the assigned stop time. Students should be waiting at the place of safety at their stop before the bus arrives. In bad weather, please have your child at the stop, not waiting inside for the bus. We are unable to wait for students to come out from their homes, as doing so would cause tremendous delays! This helps keep our buses on time and avoids delays. Do not let your child run after the bus whether or not it is moving.

  • When Twinsburg City Schools are Closed for Weather Related Calamity Days:  No bus service.

When Twinsburg City Schools are Closed for all other Types of Calamity Days, Holidays, In-service, etc.:

    • Private and Special Education Schools:  Students that attend a school that is open and has established bus routes from Twinsburg Transportation:  bus service is provided and follows its regularly scheduled route.
    • CVCC Students must provide their own transportation to and from Twinsburg High School (THS).
      Morning students:
Buses leave THS at 7:10 and return at 11:20.
      Afternoon students:
Buses leave THS at 10:15 and return at approx. 3:15.
    • CVCA and Walsh students must provide their own transportation to THS to catch the morning bus,  which leaves at 7:05.  The afternoon bus will follow its regularly scheduled route, no new stops will be created the same day.

    Two Hour Delayed Start Days:

    1. On days when Twinsburg schools have a two-hour delayed start, morning CVCC and morning Preschool is cancelled.  Busing is provided for all established routes (includes private and special education routes).  However, your stop will be two hours later than the current assigned stop time.  For example:  Morning stop is normally 6:50; add two hours for the delayed stop time and it will be 8:50.  Our goal is to keep our buses running safely and on time, but please be aware that on bad weather days your bus could be running late.

    2. Private and special education schools that have a delayed start when Twinsburg City Schools are open and on regular schedule will not be provided transportation.

    3. Morning transportation to CVCC is cancelled.  The midday and afternoon buses will run their regular schedule.

    4. Afternoon Preschool stop times will not change as busing will run the regular schedule.

  • All Wilcox students (pre-school, kindergarten, first grade) and students with special requirements must have a parent/guardian receive their students off the afternoon bus. Students not received will be kept on the bus and, after a failed attempt to call parent/guardian, will be returned to Wilcox.

  • When practical, it is advisable to mark or sew the child's first and last name on all items of clothing and label other personal property in some manner.  Personal items and clothing are kept on the bus for one week; after that they are turned into the Transportation Office.

Lunch boxes are kept on board the bus or will be given to an aide at the school at the time of drop off if it is found before the bus leaves the school.  If not claimed the same day, it will be emptied of food/drink and kept on the bus for one week, then turned into the Transportation Office.

Items that would be damaged by heat/cold or are of high value are turned in to the Transportation Office the same day after the bus run. These items include:  Musical instruments, Phones, Electronics, Ear Buds, Chromebooks, etc.  These items must be retrieved by the parent/guardian.

All items left after the end of the school year will be kept until June 30th and will then be donated to a charity.

Due to the amount of items we cannot accept phone calls or emails requesting the Transportation staff to look for your student's item. Parents/Guardians are welcome to come to the Transportation Office anytime during the school week from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm.   We are inside RB Chamberlin Middle School (10270 Ravenna Road), but do not go into the welcome center.  Pull behind the school (don't go into the separate blue building behind the school, that is where we repair the buses) and look for door #16 (there is a bus kite on a stand outside the door).  Ring the doorbell for admittance.

  • Is your student no longer attending a daycare/sitter or you were transporting but want bus service?

DISTRICT SCHOOLS:  Please update your student's transportation in FinalForms to make changes to your student's bus schedule.

PRIVATE SCHOOLS:  Please complete the Private School Online Transportation Form to make changes to your student's bus schedule.

    ALL SCHOOLS:

    1. Allow at least two weeks for processing.
    2. Do not make changes with the school until you receive an email with your student's updated bus schedule and start date.

Please note:  Bus stop times are an estimate and will vary throughout the year.  Please allow for a five to ten minute difference before or after the stop time.

  • To arrange service, fill out the Online Transportation Form. A new online transportation form must be submitted only when you are making a change (example: back to neighborhood stop, different daycare/sitter or to discontinue service). Please allow at least two weeks for processing.

    • Transportation cannot change your child's stop until the address change is completed with the school.
    • Please do not change your child's bus with the school/daycare/sitter until you have received notification from the Transportation Department that the change is complete and the start date is confirmed.
    • Changes done less than two weeks prior to the first day of the school year cannot be guaranteed bus transportation for the new address.
  • All students in preschool through first grade (or as requested by parent/guardian of upper grade students), must be received at their place of safety by a parent/guardian.  If someone other than the parent/guardian is receiving your student, please:

This must be in place before the person will be allowed to receive your student.  Your submitted form will be valid for the current school year.  Contact the Transportation Office at transportationoffice@twinsburgcsd.org for questions or concerns.

  • Every stop requires additional tax money for gas, wages, wear and tear on the busses, etc.

To maintain efficiency, we are making more neighborhood stops and less house stops (with approved exceptions).

  • A stop change is when you want to change your student's current bus assignment from a sitter/daycare or home neightborhood stop to another sitter/daycare or home neighborhood stop.  District families should request that by completing the Transportation Information tab in your student's FinalForms account.  Private school families should submit a request on the Private School Online Transportation Form.  Allow two weeks for any changes to be completed for District and Private school requests.

A location change is when you have concerns with where your student's bus stop location is placed.  To request the stop be moved, please send an email to the transportationoffice@twinsburgcsd.org email address with the following information:  1.  Student's name, 2.  Bus number, 3.  Location of current stop, 4.  Location of  where you are requesting the stop be located, 5.  The reason.  Allow two weeks for your request to be reviewed.  You will be emailed a determination.

  • The online form is available through the Transportation website’s home page. Paper forms are available in the school buildings, however, the online form is the quickest way to notify the Transportation Office of any changes.

Please be advised that due to ongoing roadwork/construction, Twinsburg buses could be delayed 10 minutes or more and that all ending dates are tentative.  We thank you for your patience!

  • The schedule is set as early as possible before school starts, but there will be variations during the first three weeks of school as the times for the routes become more firm. During the school year there are sometimes unforeseen problems (traffic, weather, etc.). Our substitute drivers are skilled, but with 36 vehicles and approximately 150 runs operated every day, they cannot and are not expected to memorize every route. We appreciate your patience during these unforeseen delays.

  • Bus Notes will not be accepted. Parents/Guardians may sign up for ONE morning pick up location and ONE afternoon drop off location. Students may only ride the bus they are assigned to by the Transportation Department.

  • No. To avoid over-crowding on our high school buses we do not assign students a bus if they are driving themselves to/from school. In emergency situations, parents may call the Transportation Office the day before school or by 6:00 a.m. on the day of school to request for a bus to transport their child to/from the closest existing neighborhood stop. Students that do not ride their assigned bus for three weeks will be removed from the bus route.
